EQ-215/EQ-230

Description

The constant Q graphic equalisers EQ-215 (dual, 2/ 3 octave) and EQ-230
(dual, 1/ 3 octave) incorporate new functions like selection of equalisation range
and selective faders illumination as well as improved specifications in increased dynamic
range and better filter musicality. A rear panel switch (ON-SCAN-OFF) associated with
the faders illumination system warrants the adaptability to the different application
fields: disk, live music, bands or monitor systems.
The equaliser EQ-230 combines in a compact 3u rack format, two 30 bands single
channel graphic equalisers, two fully parametric equalisation points and a feedback finder
system (FFS), giving the professionals a complete toolkit.
Unlike other automatic feedback destruction systems, the FFS is a simple feedback finder
which allows the operator the freedom of eliminating the feedbacks while monitoring
and evaluating at the same time, the effect produced on the equalisation.
Included in a monitor system it helps locating the send that is causing the feedback.
A delaying circuit extends the visualization time of the last feedback during a few
seconds even though the real feedback situation might have ceased as it normally occurs.

HI-PASS: Continuoslly variable high pass filter (10Hz-300Hz) in order to delimit
the bandwidth. This filter is of great utility when miking string instruments,
voices and to control low frequency feedback,...

BALANCED: Equipped with electronically balanced input and output circuits for noise
 inmmunity in long cabling set-ups.

CONSTANT Q: The constant Q topology assures minimum interaction between bands
and makes the bandwidth of each filter independent of the gain/attenuation setting.

RANGE: Global selection of the range of gain/attenuation of each band for a more precise
adjustment. Front panel Indication by double LED.

FFS: Feedback finder system (only EQ-230). A microprocessor associated with each
channel scans the whole spectrum in order to detect and display possible feedbacks.
 Direct LED fader indication.

PARAMETRIC: Incorporates a totally parametric equalization point on each channel
(only EQ-230). The range is asymmetric (+15dB, -30dB) allowing notch filter adjustments.

LOW NOISE: The use of very low noise circuits and other techniques permit achieving
 an exceptional dinamic range.

AUTO-BYPASS: Incorporates secure by-pass circuits controlled by relay for the on/off
switch transients elimination and for signal integrity in the case of internal failures.
